Work hard, play hard.
Coastal Cloud’s culture is a big attraction for employees. The virtual company is very laid back, with the understanding that work must be completed on time. The expectations of employees are high, but there is also an expectation for employees to have fun and relax. Julie Harkins, the Director of Operations described it perfectly. She said, “Many lunch hours include a trip to the ocean for some mid-day surfing or riding one of the bikes we provide to grab a beach side lunch.”
Harkins continued to describe the atmosphere in the office settings, “We’re like a family. We’re all in this together and everyone goes out of their way to help each other. We’re very laid back and sneak in lots of laughs in between a lot of hard work.” This nontraditional atmosphere motivates employees to pull their weight and get their tasks completed. Office attire is almost always casual and the snacks aren’t a bad perk either. Of course, if employees decide to work from home, attire can be as casual as they want!Business.com says that office atmosphere greatly impacts productivity.
