A technology consulting company in Flagler County has been honored by Gov. Rick Scott for its commitment to creating jobs.
Sara and Tim Hale, founders of the Palm Coast technology consulting company Coastal Cloud, received the governor’s Job Creator’s Award on Thursday at the Enterprise Florida Board & Stakeholders meeting in Ponte Vedra Beach.
After emerging in 2013 as a “cloud”-based — i.e., Internet — technology startup in Palm Coast, the company has grown to 75 employees, 25 more than they had originally projected to employ after two years. The company provides software services that help clients manage their customer databases as well as other tasks.
In 2013, Coastal Cloud was approved for a $50,000 boost to start the business from county and state economic incentive packages. Although the Hales ultimately turned down the money, Sara Hale said this week that it was an important sign of support. The company hopes to reach its goal of 100 employees by February.
